“You Can’t Deceive Us Anymore, we will Strike Soon” - Aggrieved Gold Coast Customers tells Gov’t

The National Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of Gold Coast Fund Management, GCFM, has issued out a strong warning to the Government of Ghana, stating that, they can’t be deceived anymore as they will strike soon.

According to the spokesperson of the customer group, Mr. Charles Nyame, the Akufo-Addo’s government doesn’t have the political will of paying customers locked up funds that’s why they keep deceiving them.

In a statement sent to Ghana Africa News, Mr. Nyame explained that, with a deceptive communication machinery designed, the government planted into the minds of the public that, customers invested in a very risky investment, hence they should be ready to suffer the consequences of their negligence.

Explaining the reason for the partial bailout of GH¢50,000 cap, Mr. Nyame indicated that, the Akufo-Addo’s government was really bitten by the consistent protest embarked by the customers’ group in the election year, hence to avoid losing the elections, the government released that partial money.

“Because the Akufo-Addo’s government have no political will to pay customers, after the election, they tried to deceive the public”, he added.

Mr. Nyame pointed that, after the government has told the public that, an amount of GH¢5.5 Billion has been allocated to pay all customers, the same government has turned back to tell customers that the money cannot be paid until a liquidation order has be received from the court to sell the assets of the fund management firm.

“Top government sources at the Presidency, Ministry of Finance and Security and Exchange Commissions, SEC, has revealed to us that, the Akufo-Addo government doesn’t have the political will to pay us our monies, so they will keep deceiving customers until next election”, Mr. Nyame added.

According to Mr. Nyame, the customer group is planning an action at the international level that will seriously bite the Akufo-Addo’s government to pay all customers as soon as possible.

“Pensioners are dying and businesses are collapsing, so we can’t wait until 2024 election before receiving our money”, he affirmed.

He added that, the allocation of the customers’ bailout in the 2020 budget was just a deception to lure the people to believe in their political games.

“What is stopping the government from securing the liquidation order to sell the assets in other to pay us?”, he quizzed.

Mr. Nyame has revealed that, what they did in the election year was very small, and they have in incubation actions which will bite the Akufo-Addo’s government than never.

“We are tired of the deceptions and we will be striking soon”, he announced
