The Black Stars of Ghana and the entire nation are on the hunt for a new coach and we all can agree this has rather been all too familiar story!
Without further ado, We need to first of all as a nation settle on what we want i.e Short term result or long term success and this is very important for our clarity of expectation! Now once that has been taken care of, everything else should be taken care of.
We are historically a people with little patience as far as football is concerned in Ghana. For purposes of this submission, I shall describe this situation as the ‘gidigidi syndrome’. All successful National teams have always had ‘Patience’. Driving out this syndrome is necessary for the success of our National team!
I can understand the government, incumbent & erstwhile have all wanted us to be ‘citizens not spectators’, I truly understand but please, to the powers that be, amounts given to the players as bonus & all that shouldn’t be disclosed for the sanity of the world when we (Ghana) lose a match!
And it has gotten to a point where we need to look at this whole football thing beyond the lense of passion & buy the more efficient lense of ‘business’ . Soccer in the 21st century, Ladies and Gentlemen, is business and business and business! Every business needs an investment and until we invest, the manna won’t be falling anytime soon.
I’ve exhausted what few words with which to run this errand , see you elsewhere!
