South Sudan’s Minister of Human Affairs & Disaster Management, Hon. Peter Maye Mayondit, reportedly invades football pitch to demand the removal of his wife from an ongoing football match.
According to information reaching Ghana Africa News, the Minister stopped a South Sudan National Women league game and removed his wife Aluel Garang from the field, who plays for Aweil Women FC.
The findings of Ghana Africa News, revealed that, the bodyguard of the Minister fired a gunshot into the air as the Minister interrupted the game to take his wife away.
Well, this action has made the Administration of South Sudan Football Association unhappy and disappointed.
In a press statement sent to Ghana Africa News, the Sudan Football Association expressed disappointment in the action taken by the Minister. “We are very disappointed in the impropriety act applied by the National Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management”, the statement added.
The Sudan football association has condemned the act, especially by a popular and responsible personnel serving in higher position in the government. “We will continue to stand strong and cooperate with the government to see Sudanese women being given chance to play and exercise their talents freely with confidence”, the statement assured.
Information gathered by Ghana Africa News is that, the Minister, Hon. Mayondit, had earlier on stopped the wife, Aluel Garang, from playing football, but the wife refused to listen.
It can be seen that, the refusal of the wife to stop playing football provoked the Minister to disrupt the official football match in Aweil Town with gunshots and demand the removal of the wife from the field of play.
