There has been many stories about Late Field Marshall Idi Amin Dada of Uganda ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ, but this very one has been untold since history.

Field Marshall Idi Amin Dada once wanted to change the name of Uganda to Idi.

According to sources, this is because he thought he could do anything with Uganda.

With this decision of Idi Amin, everybody was afraid to challenge him except for one man called Maliamungu who was close to him.

According to history, Maliamungu asked Idi Amin that “Your excellency sir, do you know Cyprus?”.

Idi Amin with a surprised look and asked, “what has Cyprus got to do with my decision to change our name to Idi?”.

Maliamungu said, “the people of Cyprus are called CYPRIOTS, so if you change Uganda to Idi, we will be called IDIOTS, including your good self sir, so please let’s maintain our name”.

Idi Amin said with a relief, “aahโ€ฆ Maliamungu!, you are very intelligent. Infact, more intelligent than everyone in Uganda except me”.
