The Former Deputy Information Minister, Mr Pius Enam Hadzide has said the New Patriotic Party led government is not a talkative and propagandist administration and that explains the reasons why the Gender Minister, Ms Sarah Adwoa Safo has been silent on the report of the allege sodomy of 19 boys in Salaga by their teacher.
He said substantive works were ongoing behind the scenes in areas of policy formulation to provide Ghanaian children safe, secure and conducive environment to develop into responsible adulthood and rubbish claims that the minister was not fit for the position.
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority said, the minister’s silent was the different between the party and it rival opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) adding the NDC was a talkative and propagandist party.
“There are striking differences between the NDC and the NPP, Johnnie, we don’t run a talkative administration we take substantive action. What the people of Ghana want to see is that work is happening on the ground not running of mouth and pouring of what air and issuance of statements in middle of substantive work,” he said.
“The minister’s work is to formulate policies towards the establishment of a safe conducive environment for children to grow up to become responsible adult and so on but I am saying that the substantive work is what we are focusing on,” mentioned.
“As I am speak there is the legislation that we are shepherding that is protecting children and youth but because you are a talkative and propagandist government you approach is to start talking talking”.
He was reacting to comment by a Member of the NDC’s Communication’s Team, Mr Elikem Kotoko that the minister was a square peg in a round hole.
He noted, the Ghana Police Service does not need a statement from the minister to conduct any investigation into any criminality and most definitely not the sodomy of the 19 pupils also.
