The Ghana Police Service has finally come out to clear the air about a robbery incident which supposedly happened on the Osu Oxford street on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
It was earlier reported that a group of armed robbers trying to avoid mob attack entered the Osu Oxford street branch of KFC restaurant to seek refuge after a failed robbery operation.
The armed robbers begged the workers of the restaurant to call the police to come to thier rescue to prevent attack by the mob.
However, the police through an official statement on the development has reiterated that there was only one armed robber who entered the restaurant at Osu to avoid being arrested.
“With reference to an incident that occurred at a facility at Osu yesterday, Tuesday, 7th September 2021, the Police Administration wishes to bring to the attention of the public some facts.
“The anti-robbery unit of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police undertook an intelligent-based covert operations at Osu against the activities of some suspected criminals.
“The fallout from the operations was witnessed by some members of the public and no one was hurt neither was any property damaged in the process.” the police statement read.
