Highlife musician, Akosua Agyapong, has blamed Achimota hospital for the death of the renowned highlife legend Nana Ampadu.
The Veteran musician died on September 28, 2021, at the Legon Hospital, Nana Ampadu died at age 76.
In an interview with an Accra-based radio station, veteran musician Akosua Agyapong disclosed that Nana Ampadu has been sick for some time and was treated.
However, his situation became intense and he was rushed to the Achimota Hospital but unfortunately, he was denied treatment.
According to Akosua Agyapong , when the sick patient arrived at Achimota hospital on Tuesday morning, they were told the doctor was sleeping so he had to be rushed to Legon Hospital where doctors did their best but unfortunately died.
“The ambulance didn’t get here early. We went to the Achimota hospital and we were informed that the doctor had slept. So when he was taken to the new hospital at Legon, the doctors tried all they could but he couldn’t survive’’.she said
According to Akosua Agyapong, she has lost a father, and she will remember him for his shows and the great tunes he made.
For more than four decades, Nana Ampadu was known for some of famous highlife songs which includes ‘Obra’, ‘Oman Bo Adwo’, ‘Kukrukukru’ and ‘Agatha’ are popular today.
