Ghanaian Media Consultant and host of Metro TV’s morning current affairs programme, Mr Randy Abbey has caution Ghanaians not to take information put out there by persons carrying titles as gospel truth.
That he said was because not everybody carrying such, including professor, Dr, among others were sane.
Mr Abbey has therefore, sound a word of caution to Ghanaians to exercise some restraint when listening to them.
“Am just warning you. Don’t go about thinking that anybody carrying title professor , Dr ,what have you, including myself is always right and is very sane and says everything which you should believe. Please you listen to us with caution, I beg you”, he cautioned.
LGBTQ+ in Ghana
He was leading discussions about the proposed law against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexuals, Transgender and Queer Individuals (LGBTQI) community in the country and its subsequent brouhahas which had engulf the country.
Discussions of the LGBTQ+ minority in Ghana and their right, a never dying issue seem to be gaining grounds again in Ghana barely two month the issue went to rest following a propose anti-gay bill currently before parliament.
The discussions had surfaced again due to stiff opposition mounted by some Ghanaian elites.
According to them, the bill, “Promotion of Proper Human Sexuality and Ghanaian family Value Bill 2021 would erode the country’s gains as far as human right was concerned.
The group led by renowned ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Lawyer, Mr Akoto Ampaw and made up of the academia, journalist, lawyers, etc has therefore called on parliament to vote against the bill.
However, many Ghanaians and religious bodies have thrown their weight behind the bill.
They maintain, LGBTQ+ activities would erode the country’s family system and vowed to vote against any party who resist the passage of the bill.
