Kwesi Appiah, has agreed to work as the Technical Director of Asante Kotoko ahead of the 2021/22 season.
A meeting took place between Appiah and the Kotoko management , in the presence of Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, where he decided to head the technical directorate.
Kwesi Appiah was seen as a successor to Mariano Barreto who’s future with the club is uncertain.
According to reports reaching Ghana Africa News, Kwesi Appiah has decided to work for the club without any charges.
Kwesi Appiah played for Asante Kotoko between 1983 to 1993, and was a member of the team that won the Africa Cup of Champions Clubs.
In 1992 to 1995, Kwasi Appiah started his managerial career with the Reds, where he served as assistant coach and then eventually took over as head coach from 1995 to 1996.
In 2012 He was appointed as Black Coach after being an assistant coach of Ghana from 2007 to 2012.
He left after the World Cup in 2014 but returned for a second spell between 2017 to 2019.
