The intire Kalijisa community both number one and two in the Builsa north municipality of the upper east region has organized a communal labour in the community to reshape their only dug-out in the community.
The community members were out in their numbers to support the initiative to reshape the dugout before the raining season. The dugout which serves as the source of water for the people community and their animals were washed away it banks by last year torrential rain.
According to the community members who spoke to GhanaAfricaNews Upper east regional Correspondent Edmond Kwaching Agwaazeh lamented that the state of their dugout now is very bad and before it got to that deplorable state ,all efforts by the community leaders to the authorities to get the situation fix proved futile , hence the needs for the community members to embarks on such exercise before it becomes too late.
According to the youth in the community, they are ready for dry season farming but lack of water or dam in the community has made them useless and idleness in the community which makes live unbearable for them as youth that want to to make it in the future.
Our animals are gotten missed every year others are died due to lack of water in the community and it doesn’t help them in the community which pushed some of the youth to always travel to the southern part of the country to look for non existing jobs .
The community members therefore used the opportunity to appealed to authorities especially the municipal assembly as matter of urgency to come to their aid to rescue them from the bad situation before the raining season .
