The Bank of Ghana has caution the general public against patronizing the suppose 64th Anniversary promotion campaigns making rounds on the various social media platforms in the country.
A statement signed by the bank’s Secretary, Ms Sandra Thompson said, the bank was not running any such promotion.
She has therefore warn, persons who take part in the promo, do so at their own risk.
The information was contained in a statement dated October 14 and sighted by Ghana Africa News.
“It has come to the notice of the Bank of Ghana that a promotion regarding the celebration of the Bank’s 64th anniversary is circulating on social media platforms,” the statement said.
The Bank is not running a 64th Anniversary promotion of any kind.
“The general public is advised not to subscribe to this fraudulent activity inviting the public to select the links shared through social media which is intended to lure users to participate in the spurious promotion”
According to the statement, all official information from the bank would only be made available to the general public through their website www.bog.gov.gh
Additionally, such official communications would also be made available on its various social media handles @thebankofghana on Facebook and twitter.
“The general public is advice to take note and to desist from participating in such fraudulent promotions in the name of Bank of Ghana,” the statement added.
“Any individual or entity that participates in such or similar schemes does so at their own peril.”
