Wendy Shay has opened up about her predicaments when she was fisrt introduced into the industry.
The Rufftown Records signed singer is reported to have said she received death threats from unknown persons which made her fear for her life.
According to Wendy Shay because she came into the music scene right after the death of Ebony, it was very difficult for her to fit in due to the negative sentiments on Ebony’s fans.
“I received death threats in my DM. They say I was coming to take the place of their favourite artiste and they won’t let that happen”, Wendy Shay said.
Detailing her ordeal Wendy Shay also known as Wendy Asiamah Addo added “It was really hard, it was hard. It was just like they didn’t want you to make the world know what you have”.
“In Ghana, if you are doing something and it’s really nice, they don’t want to applaud you for it because it’s beyond imagination…. Because when you look at my story, my first song was a hit. Things like these have never happened”.
Wendy Shay is currently with a new controversial song titled ‘Heat’ featuring the Shay Gang which is receiving a lot of airplay across the country.
