The Deputy National Communication Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Godwin Ako Gunn has disclosed that Ghanaians are not fed up with former President Mr. John Mahama leading the NDC again, as Ghanaians won’t forgive John Mahama if he doesn’t lead NDC in 2024.
According to Ako Gunn, he believes the 2020 flagbearer of the party, John Mahama has marketed himself very well and looks good in the eyes of Ghanaians who want to experience good governance again in the country.
Speaking to Kwame Minkah on Tontonsansan on TV XYZ, Gunn, monitored by Ghana Africa News, who followed Mr. Mahama to tour parts of the country in the north and the middle belt recently, stated that Ghanaians are expecting the former president to lead the NDC into election 2024.
“People will be very disappointed if John Dramani Mahama decides not to contest again in the NDC flagbearership race,” Gunn said while making a strong case for the NDC to retain their 2020 presidential candidate. “If he does not contest, I believe people won’t forgive him,”
The NDC youth who have been toiling day and night for power to be won so that they can Also get opportunities to take care of themselves and their families are about to be disappointed in 2024 too.
“Old men with billions of dollars sitting in their accounts have been resurrected from their slumbers to destabilize the chances of the party in 2024”, Ako Gunn added.
This comment followed immediately Dr. Kwabena Duffour opened up his aspirations to contest the NDC flagbearership.
Ako Gunn has alleged that Dr. Duffuor sponsored Akuffo Addo against John Mahama, the NDC candidate in 2016, hence he shouldn’t be allowed to lead the NDC.
“He is dreaming. He should wake up from that bad dream. His humiliation will be more than Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings”, he noted.
Ako Gunn said Dr. Duffour has been tasked to destroy the NDC toils and sweats for personal gains.
“They have nothing to lose when NDC doesn’t succeeds in 2024, it is the poor party foot soldiers who will suffer heartaches”, he added.
