The Ghana Police Hospital has announced plan to embark on a mass burial for about two (2) hundred unidentified and unclaimed dead bodies.
According to a statement sent to Ghana Africa News, Ghana Police Hospital plan on mass burial is part of routine measure to decongest the hospital mortuary.
In the statement signed by the Head, Public Affairs, DSP/MR. Yaw Nketia-Yeboah, it was stated that, these unidentified and unclaimed dead bodies are made up of paupers, unknown former patients, abandoned dead bodies and unidentified accident and crime victims.
The hospital, has therefore urged the general public to contact the Pathology Department of the Ghana Police Hospital for identification of persons who might have not been seen for some time now. “We don’t want the situation hereby such bodies are added to mass burial”, the statement added.
As a measure to minimize the rate of unidentified dead bodies at the hospital, Ghana Police Hospital encouraged members of the public to always put on themselves an Identification Card, ID, which will help the police and others to easily identify them in situation of health crises or accident.
