Famous emerging Ghanaian rapper and singer, Kofi Jamar has detailed how his monster banger “Ekorso” changed his life when he least expected.
Born Derrick Osei Kuffuor Prempeh, Kofi Jamar revealed that Ekorso was the song that cemented his feets unto the Ghanaian music scene.
“Ekorso did a lot. It was that song that got me out there”, he said.
Kofi Jamar continued “I had a dream of being big here in Ghana and beyond and ‘Ekorso’ just surpassed that dream for me. It wasn’t just here it was everywhere.”
Raised in the slums of Bantama, a well known suburb in the Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi, he has gained a lot of traction within a short period of time with his dexterity and delivery.
Kofi Jamar sprung to fame from the viral Kumerica and Asaaka drill trend which started from Kumasi and is now practically a lifestyle lived by the current generation of artistes.
Kofi Jamar just dropped his debut EP titled “Appetite For Distraction” and according to him, it is a representation of how versatile he can be as an artiste.
“After Ekorso, I got a lot of people discovering me so I felt it was time to break the ice because around that time, people associated me with that Kumerican brand and that drill, hard Hiphop genre”
This EP is just to break the ice and let them know there’s a lot more to me and to prove how far I can go with my music and versatility,” he opined.
He is currently signed understand GADOne Records.
