According to Kojo Cue, if Daddy Lumba was from the USA, he would have been put in the same category with the likes of late pop icon Michael Jackson.
Speaking in an interview with NYDJ on Y102.5FM’s Ryse N Shyne show, Kojo Cue said bluntly that.
“If Daddy Lumba was not born in Ghana then Michael Jackson will be nowhere near Daddy Lumba, apart from maybe his stage performance.
Daddy Lumba is the world’s greatest. This is who he would’ve been if he was not born in Ghana and also because the whites don’t understand Twi and that is it.”
Born, Linford Kennedy Amankwaa, Kojo Cue added that the only setback for Daddy Lumba is that he sings in the Twi language which cannot be understood by foreigners.
“If foreigners understood Twi, Daddy Lumba would’ve been the world’s greatest and I stand by it every day,” he added.
He further mentioned that “I just love his music. It is like music I heard growing up a lot at parties and all but didn’t really understand them.”
“Every time you play a Lumba song, even if you’ve heard it 100 times, you will hear and pick something different from it and that is Daddy Lumba,” he said while hailing Daddy Lumba’s uniqueness as an artiste.
Kojo Cue is currently out with his latest studio work he calls ’21 Memory Lane’ EP.
The project is a six-songs extended play, which according to the rapper is a compilation of stories from his past relationships.
