The Police is investigating alleged gathering by the Christ Embassy Church at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair Centre Accra on Friday, April 30, 2021 in flagrant disregard of COVID-19 protocols putting the entire country at risk of spreading COVID-19.
It would be recalled that there was a trending video of an alleged gathering by the Christ Embassy Youth, in a programme dubbed “Pneumatic Night”, which showed a non-mask wearing mass crowd, screaming, chanting and dancing to the “evangelism” of non-mask leaders.
According to information reaching Ghana Africa News, Ghana Police did not provide security for the said event and warns that those who breached the law will face consequences.
In a press release sent to Ghana Africa News, Ghana Police pointed that, the organizers failed to give notice of the event to any Police Officer or station.
In the statement, Ghana Police stated that, the event, advertised as a church service which ordinarily did not require notice under the Public Order Act, was organized at the blind side of the Police.
Ghana Police have since yesterday, Sunday morning locked up the Fantasy Dome and have started questioning leaders of the Church and Management of the Fantasy Dome about the event. “Any person found culpable will be arrested and duly prosecuted”, the statement revealed.
The Police service has reminded everyone that actions that breach the Imposition of Restrictions Act, will be subjected to the sanctions imposed by the law.
