The Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Abena, Dapaah have been named a caretaker Minister for the Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection.
A statement from the Presidency and sighted by Ghana African News said she would act as the caretaker minister until further notice and in the absence the minister, Ms Sarah Adwoa Safo who is on an extended leave.
The letter dated October 6, and signed by the Director of Communication, Mr Eugene Arhin said the minister requested for a leave of absence citing personal reasons.
“The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended the leave of absence for the Minister of Gender Children and Social Protection, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, MP for Dome Kwabenya which was to have ended on August 31. The Minster sought leave of absence for personal reasons”.
“In her absence and until further notice, President Akufo Addo has directed the Minister of Sanitation and water resources, Cecelia Abena Dapaah to act as caretaker Minster for the Children and Social Protection,” the statement said.
