Many influential Ghanaian personalities have been enstooled as kings and queens for various traditional
communities and towns.
It could be through marriage to a royal or conferred on a person for thier contributions to development. Many female Ghanaian celebrities have been enstooled as queens one way or the other and impacting society with thier positions.
Let’s take a look at top five (5) Ghanaian female celebrities who have been enstooled as queens for some traditional towns and villages in Ghana.
1. Oheneyere Gifty Anti

The influential Ghanaian broadcaster was enstooled as queen-mother of Adumasa in the Eastern Region of Ghana after getting married to Oyikekyire Nana Ansah Kwao IV in 2018.
2. Mercy Asiedu

Award winning filmmaker, Mercy Asiedu also became queen of Kunsu a town in the Ahafo Ano South District in the Ashanti Region after she got married to the Chief, Nana Agyemang Badu.
3. Wendy Shay

‘Uber Driver’ hit maker, Wendy Shay was also installed as ‘Ahenemba Hemaa’ (Queen of Royals) of Gomoa Afransi in December 2019 due to her many developmental projects in the area.
4. eShun

Sensational Ghanaian songer eShun was also enstooled as the ‘Youth Queen Mother’ of Gomoa Afransi in the Central Region of Ghana.

The ceremony took place during the annual Akwambo festival of the Chiefs and people of Gomoa Afransi Traditional Area.
eShun was enstooled as queen with the name Nana Henmaa Esi Eshun I.
5. Ciara Antwi aka Bofowaa

In October 2020, the wife of popular preacher, Reverend Obofuor was enstooled as Queen Mother of Tepa, a town in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. She was given the name Abuafuohemaa (Queen of development) due to her contributions to development in the community.
