The Police have arrested three people in the Volta Region for their alleged involvement in a recruitment fraud in the on-going enlistment into the various security services.
The three suspects includes 18-year-old Bernard Amenya as well as Godsway Adzika and Godson Wemegah,, both 21 years old. They were arrested by the Volta Regional Police Command in Akatsi on September 14, 2021 after a tip-off.
StarrFMOnline reported that this latest arrested comes after an alleged fake Facebook account created in the name of the Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Edward Oduro Kwanteg was discovered to have been scamming the unsuspecting public out of their money.
A lot of people have lost various amounts of money to fraudsters all in a bid to be recruited into the Ghana Police Service.
However, a statement issued by Head of Public Affairs at the Volta Regional Police Command, DSP Effia Tenge, has warned the public to be vigilant and not fall victim to such schemes.
“The command wishes to state that it is not responsible for recruiting persons into the service, as such, desperate applicants should be wary of protocol allocations being offered all over the place,” the statement read.
